A 51-year-old Malaysian man, reported missing by his family, was found dead in Singapore waters on March 11, 2024. The man’s body was discovered in the waters off Senoko Way, near Woodlands, following a water rescue assistance call received by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) at around 3:25pm.
According to Malaysian news outlet Sin Chew Daily, the man was a private-hire driver who had gone missing that same day. His car was found abandoned on a bridge in Permas Jaya, Johor, around 6am, with his identification card and mobile phone left inside. The family used social media to appeal for witnesses and dashboard camera footage in an attempt to locate him.
Upon arrival at the scene, SCDF rescuers spotted the body floating in the water and retrieved it. The person was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic. Sin Chew reported that the man’s family traveled to Singapore to collect his body after being notified of the news.
