One of the children infected is a 4-year-old boy in the ICU who is being supported by mechanical ventilation.

He was admitted into KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital CICU on 1 November.

One is in a general ward, while the other two have since been discharged.

The condition causes inflammation in the heart, lungs, kidney brain and eyes.

MOH added that these cases are rare and that the 4 cases are part of over 8,000 paediatric Covid-19 cases in Singapore since the onset of the pandemic.

MOH said that MIS-C is similar to the Kawasaki disease, related to various virus or bacterial infections occurring in 150 to 200 kids per year here.
