This is the second occurrence of students getting disturbed by monkeys, Previously a video went viral after a student was seen getting his bag stolen by a monkey near school grounds.
This new footage shows a similar incident where a boy took out everything from a school boy’s bag, clothes, phone, and personal belongings that were ransacked by the boy and it appears to have happened inside a school.
Two boys were staring helplessly as the havoc continues, one of the monkeys started approaching the two boys and they both ran off.
Should Nparks take action and relocate the hungry monkeys to the zoo or deep in Mandai?

Not advisable
If a monkey snatches your stuff, it is best not to show an aggressive stance as the boy could have been attacked violently by the monkeys.
Most of the time, if the monkeys notice that there is nothing to eat they will leave it behind.
Here is what Nparks advise when encountering monkeys in the open
If monkeys approach you:
- Stop whatever you are doing immediately.
- Remain calm and quiet. Do not make sudden movements and do not maintain direct eye contact with the monkeys.
- Look away and back off slowly. Do not turn away from the monkeys and run.
- If you are holding an object which is attracting the monkeys, conceal or discard it.
- Do not try to hit the monkeys.
- If you have a child with you, put him/her on your shoulders. This will increase your perceived size, which could deter the monkeys from approaching you and your child.
- Keep away from the area until the monkeys have left.
