Mummies school group chat
Hi all, pls don’t bombard this stressed out mummy here.
My presch girl is 5 and one parent set up a grp chat for their class.
I feel that these group are very toxic and some mummies are really so annoying. It became a group for her to flaunt her connections and social status etc.
For social norms reason, I can’t just quit the group as we would often see each other when we fetch and drop off the kids.
Somemore I’m a pretty busy mum and I sort of relies of this group for school updates and reminders.
One incident last year really piss me off as she uses scarasm on another mummy for getting the privilege to go out with the class outings.
Why can’t people be nice to each other.
Here are what netizens think:
- Just mute the group read only when you feel like it
- Mute and ignore… read when you have time. Scroll by if you see anything toxic or not nice. Why you feel so stress out when they are not talking about you and neither it’s your problem?
- Lol well it’s always a choice. Just leave the group and have have the school update you on the activities. Done ! This is not a high tea club or THe real house wives of Singapore.
- Anyone else in the chat friends with her? If not, just set up another group and add all other parents in except her.
- Yes, mute and ignore. When facing this kind of parent or even friend, you just need to put up a mask!!! No choice, this is life… unless you don’t want to survive!
- Your encounter is normal. Once you have identified a few similar parents (like yourself), you can create another separate group of your own benefits. Can just silence the other group and ignore irrelevant comments / suggestions.
