A video emerged online showing a motorcycle accident that occurred along Mandai Road.
The accident happened earlier today (24 January) at about 7.38am, and according to SG Road Vigilante (SGRV), the motorcyclist had been allegedly speeding.
SGRV captioned that the motorcyclist was allegedly “ignoring the 70km/h speed limit, only to crash & burn a few moments later”.
The motorcyclist was seen in the video wheezing past the cam car and disappearing from sight.
Moments later, the car then drove past the motorcyclist, who by now had already crashed his motorcycle and was lying down on the road in pain.
The motorcycle then exploded and burst into flames, as a thick and bright orange flame formed from the motorcycle explosion.
Sparks were seen going off at the base of the motorcycle moments before the explosion.
The police and the SCDF said that they were alerted to the incident at about 7.40am this morning and the fire was extinguished with a water hose reel.
The motorcyclist was also conveyed to the hospital and is currently assisting the police’s investigations into careless driving.
SCDF added that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
