A video emerged online showing a road rage incident involving a motorcyclist and the driver af a car along the road.
The incident happened on 21 May somewhere along Clementi Road, and the driver’s wife filmed the incident on the passenger side of the car.
The motorcyclist was seen in the video throwing what looks like a Pokka Iced Lemon Tea bottle at the car before cutting into the driver’s lane and emergency braking right in front of the car.
The camcar driver said:
“Rider pointed middle finger while infront of us while we are in lane waiting for traffic light to turn green.
Then i ask my wife to video down him and his carplate. Subsequently he throw his pokka bottle at our car and tried to jam brake infront to cause accident.
kindly publish for the the public to be careful of this rider. (SIC)”
Potential penalties
Drivers who drive in a manner that is dangerous to the public is guilty of an offence under section 64(1) of the Road Traffic Act (RTA).
Persons found guilty face a jail term of up to 1 year and/or a $5,000 fine.
If the driver causes hurt, he faces a jail term of up to 2 years and a fine of $10,000.
If the driver caused grievous hurt, he faces a jail term of between 1 to 5 years and disqualified from driving for at least 8 years.
If the driver’s actions caused death, he faces a jail term of up to 2 to 8 years and disqualified from driving for at least 10 years.
