M’SIA PARLIAMENT IN LOCKDOWN, NO ONE ALLOWED TO LEAVE UNTIL SWAB RESULTS OUT

The lower house of Malaysia’s Parliament, the Dewan Rakyat, saw at least 4 adjournments on 29 July.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohd Rashid Hasnon, announced that 2 people in the building had tested positive for Covid-19.

One of them was an officer attending to Parliament.

Rashid said that both cases had been present in “many locations” within Parliament.

He added that:

“No one, including MPs, officers and staff, is allowed to leave Parliament until swab test results are out. Priority will be given to MPs.”
