MUM REFUSE TO ACCEPT THAT SON’S GF HAS A CHILD, TELLS HIM TO “CHOOSE HER OR ME”

My boyfriend’s mom wouldn’t accept me. What should I do?

I have no one to go to share this with. I’ve been crying so much the past two days & I’m at a loss of what to do.

I (28,F) have a daughter from my previous marriage (husband brought a lady back home and I caught him). Bf (28,M) knows about my daughter. He has spent time together with my daughter, having dinners etc.

He told his mom yesterday about me having a daughter & his mum went almost mental. She started crying and saying that she does not accept it because she would not know how to tell her parents/in-laws why her son chose to be with someone who had a kid. She gave him the ultimatum, said if he chooses to be with me, the family will disown him as a son.

I’m heartbroken. I can’t possibly make him choose me over his family. And he would not do that either. We are waiting it out to see if his mom will calm down & speak rationally.

He is heartbroken as well because he cried last night and just kept apologising to me.

It just sucks to know that despite knowing me as a person, liking me & almost treating me like a daughter in law (before she knew of the kid), that her traditional mindset still could not be changed. It sucks to know that I’ll be facing more of these in the years to come. It absolutely hurts to know that even though I’ve tried my best, I still was not good enough.

I’m tired of being here. This place brings me so much pain. I want to take my daughter and leave this country (esp with the accumulation of negative experiences/divorce/catching adultery).

If you’ve read all the way till the end, thank you very much. What should be my next course of action? Any tips on leaving this country? And how feasible is it to move out of here with my daughter? I do feel that my daughter is still very young so honestly should be quite adaptable..?? Anywhere is fine, really. I think I really want to start a life somewhere else.
