Rant about MLM schemes:
My mom joined a MLM about 2 years ago which markets health supplements against the wishes of me and my dad. Today, shes an active member and tries zealously to recruit new members. Just a few days ago, she asked me to sign up as a member for various reasons which she cannot explain coherently and logically to me. As her daughter, i have a hard time saying no to my mother. But my moral values tell me not to be involved and perpetuate the MLM scheme.
In the end, I told my mom im not comfortable with it and as a result she has been giving me the cold shoulder and been very hostile towards me. I’d liken it to emotional blackmail… Im just very angry at how shes been utterly brainwashed by these MLM bullshit which claims that their health products are miracle products. And she will spend a few hundred dollars per month just to buy these products for our family when all my family members are relatively healthy and in no need of these health products.
I have no clue on how to tell her to quit and stop because (A) im her daughter and i cannot argue against her and (B) there are very little resources and facts to counter the “brain-washing” miraculous claims of the health products.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to persuade my mom to quit this MLM scheme from cheating her of her hard-earned money
