The National Environmental Agency (NEA) recently shared a post on their Facebook page which urged residents to help cleaners keep public dining areas clean.
In the post, NEA highlighted on the efforts taken by the cleaners to keep these areas clean so that the public can enjoy using these dining facilities and they have also mentioned that ever since the pandemic arrived at our shores, the demands on the workload for the cleaners have increased.
They urged the public to do their part by returning their own used crockery to lighten the load on the cleaners so that the turnover rates for the tables can be faster for other users to use the facilities.
Here is what NEA said
“Cleaning and sanitising tables, sorting and clearing trays and crockery at tray and crockery return points, and returning clean trays and crockery to stalls – these are just some of the daily tasks that our cleaners undertake to uphold and maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of our public dining places.
The demands on cleaners have increased amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, and cleaners may take longer to clean tables, especially during peak dining hours. But by returning our trays and used crockery, we help to enable faster turnover of tables, which benefits hawkers, diners and cleaners.
Let’s play our part in keeping our public dining places clean and safe. #ClearYourTables#BinUsedTissues#ReturnOurTrays”
