Rant -I don’t think I will change my mind, but am always open to hearing others thoughts.
I just got into a debate about girls clothing. Specifically that girls should not wear bikinis in public (person is question was 11, so I mean girls as in child).
I’ve put some thought into this because as a teacher I see secondary school girls wear some revealing clothing. And it made me uncomfortable. But final conclusion was it’s the lenses that our society views “females” with that actually is the problem. Any adult that looks at a young girl/boy and decides they are a S object, needs to adjust their thinking.
And even saying, “she shouldn’t dress like that because it’s revealing” is wrong. Because you are now an adult using that lense.
Either one of two things will occur. The girl/boy will be too young to have their peers view it as S, in which case no issue. Or, their peers will view it as S, which is fine, because that indicates that they are at the age to view it as such.
Additional education needs to be has around making smart choices once they are I the age group of discovering their future.
