Singaporean activist Gilbert Goh shared how he found a needy family using a dilapidated and rusty old refrigerator, and bought a new one for them with the help of some donors.
Here is what he said
Felt really sad to find a needy family still using a rusty run-down fridge whereby the side is almost chipped-off due to the very dilapidated state of the item.
It’s probably a handed-down second-hand fridge which the household still uses despite it’s abject corroded condition.
This is probably the worst-conditioned electrical item we have ever seen used by a family.
There is nothing wrong with functional hand-me-down white goods but the lifespan must be pretty short given the fact that it’s being used before for several years.
Anyway, we are buying the household a brand-new fridge and once again, we want to thank all our donors for their generosity in making this world a better place.
We are also proud to mention that most of our white good donations are brand-new and though they may not be the top model brand, they are unused before and come with warranty.
Our society will be more egalitarian when the rich shares their wealth with the underprivileged and poor around us.
