A man was surprised to see offerings burned outside a unit during the 7th month. He said that it could be a fire hazard.

The burning of incense paper is prohibited in HDB common hallways due to the risk of fire. Incense papers should only be burned in incense burners or metal containers issued by the Town Council, according to the Singapore Civil Defence Force’s (SCDF) public fire safety standards.
In his post he said:
“No offence. Is this right? 7th mth offerings in front of door step & ashes blowing into your neighbours’ houses? What if the whole unit catches fire?”
