A post was recently seen on Facebook accusing a Mala eatery based in Tampines for trying to evade tax.
Shop accused is a Mala shop at Tampines
The shop that was accused is none other than Kiev’s Cuisine at Block 610, Tampines North Drive 1, Tampines Greenweave #01-02 Singapore 520610.
The netizen who accused the shop of evading tax claims that the amount stated on the receipt which the netizen received is always much lower than the amount paid by the netizen for the netizen’s order.
A closer look at the receipt shows that the items that were included inside the receipt are:
- 1 X Regular Spicy Mala Base = $0
- 1 X Takeaway = $0.30
Which brings the total amount payable to $0.30.
It is unknown if the allegations by the netizen that the shop is evading tax is true of false.
Here is the post by the netizen
“This shop at Tampines selling Mala Xiang Guo always give me a receipt with incorrect amount.
Very suspicious that they are evading tax!

Here are what netizens think
- If they can charge for tax, the receipt should indicate GST number. Unless you personally know of the information that they have to pay tax but elak.
- Money goes into his pocket and not company.
