When I was small, my parents told me to get a degree. They told me that the corporate world has a glass ceiling for poly grads. An unwritten rule where poly grads cannot rise above senior executive level.

Now, with the degree, I have raised the ceiling a little higher. But it is still there. Working in an MNC, I can see that 70% of managerial roles are filled with people with masters and above. Above that, 99% are PHD holders, with a considerable fraction of them being professors for postgrad studies in NUS/NTU. Lifelong learning for real.
