A netizen who wishes to remain anonymous has recently gave us her feedback on how environmental unfriendly a certain bubble tea chain is.
Here is her full story
“I love drinking bubble tea from “so and so” and I always find it a waste of resources and damaging to the earth every time they pour my order into a plastic cup.
Hence, I bought a reusable water tumbler from Shopee to play my part in being environmentally conscious.

However to my dismay, when I recently ordered from “so and so” and asked them to pour the drink into my water tumbler instead of a plastic cup, they rejected me and told me that they are unable to do so.
Mind you, I did not ask them to fill my tumbler to the brim but told them to prepare according to my order and then just transfer it into my tumbler.
I asked the staff behind the counter as to why they are unable to do so and explained my intentions of trying to save the earth by being eco-friendly but she just said that they do not do so and it is not within their standard operating procedures (SOP).
After she poured it into the plastic cup, I asked her if she could now help me to transfer the drink to my tumbler, she did not reject me and proceeded to do so.
To me it has became pointless as she has just wasted a plastic cup and it defeats the purpose of me being eco-friendly.
I have tried this with Starbucks before and they always allow me to do so and even offered a discount for bringing your own tumblr.
I am not asking for any discount by doing the same with “so and so”, so I really don’t get it as to why they are so inflexible.
I hope that they can review their SOP on this to be more environmental conscious.”
