NETIZEN NOT HAPPY AS STARHUB GAVE HIM MORE DATA AT PRORATED RATE

I experience this very weird situation.

Yesterday (23 august) I receive an SMS notification from Starhub informing me I have used finished my free data usage for this month (august).

So I went into the StarHub app to buy the extra 50GB data add-on for $20 a month.

Today I went into the StarHub app to check. It shows I have 39GB left which means I used 11GB from yesterday.

So I called Starhub and they explained to me

Sh: you will receive a pro-rated charge from 23 august to 1 September for the data add-on.

Me: so the 50GB data add-on will be prorated from 23 august to 1 September too? So how much prorated extra data do I have from 23 august to 1 September?

Sh: only the $20 charges will be prorated. You have a 50GB add-on from 23 august to 1 September. Now you still have 39GB left to use till 1 September. From 2 to 30 September you will be charged a new bill of $20 for a 50GB add-on.

Me: since the extra data add-on of $20 is prorated from 23 august to 1 September, shouldn’t the extra 50GB also be prorated from 23 august to 1 September? Let’s say I pay a prorated amount of $8, then the 50GB is prorated from 23 august to 1 September, I should be getting about 13GB and not the entire 50GB? So I pay $8 and get 13GB for the month of august?

Sh: no. Only your bill is prorated but you will be entitled to extra 50GB of data. You pay $8 and you get 50GB for august.

Me: so the amount of $50 is prorated from 23 august to 1 September. Let’s say the amount is $8. So I pay an extra $8 for august and I can get an extra 50GB for august? It doesn’t make sense what. If the bill amount is prorated, then the data should be prorated too.

Sh: no. You pay $8 and you are entitled to 50GB

Do you all think what Starhub says makes sense?

Is it the staff who give me the wrong info?
