If you are a national serviceman who is eligible for the NS55 Recognition Package, you need to pay attention now.
A TikTok user, @kpherluke, shared a “legit hack” on 5 July, showing how he redeemed the $100 NS55 credits as cash at a Sheng Siong $TM (Simple Teller Machine).
He was seen in the video choosing the “PayNow” option on the machine, and keyed in $90, before collecting it in cash.
He explained that you cannot withdraw $100 as there is a 20 cents convenience fee, thus the reason for only withdrawing $90, leaving him with $9.80 in credits.
The credits can only be accessed with the LifeSG app, and the user will have to press on the “benefits and support” button, before choosing the “scan and pay” option.
Then just scan the QR code at the $TM and you can get your money already.
Other netizens who have presumably tried @kpherluke’s “hack” have purportedly also succeeded in getting their hands on the cash.
It is not clear if the loophole has been discovered yet or not, and @kpherluke urged others to quickly withdraw their cash before the loophole is discovered.
Another netizen shared that the loophole has yet to be patched as he had just tried it and succeeded in withdrawing the credits as cash as well.
