NEW COVID-19 CASE REPORTED IN JURONG WEST SECONDARY SCHOOL

According to a media release, a 13-year-old student from Jurong West Secondary School was among the 191 new cases reported on 10 Jul 2020 who were infected by COVID-19.

The student was linked to a previously confirmed case reported on 07 July 2020, both of them were classmates.

The student was placed on Home Quarantine Order after she was identified as a close contact with the previous case. She was last in school on 03 Jul 2020 where she was well and remains without any symptoms.

The school has been disinfected multiple times since last week. All Secondary 1 students were placed on Home Base Learning while pending investigation from the Ministry of
Health.

As a precautionary measure, students that were affected will be placed on Home Base Learning till 18 July 2020 while all other students will resume classes in school on the 13 Jul 2020.
