This variant is the result of two other mutations coming together in the same virus.
The new Covid-19 variant has been found in more than 200 samples from the state of Maharashtra.
Although at the moment, there isn’t any evidence that these new variants are more transmissible or more lethal.
A BBC health reported wrote that virus mutations were common, although the impact and consequences of this particular mutation is unknown at the moment.
