ProCom Launches Strategic Location Response (SLR) Deployment to Enhance Public Security
On June 22, 2025, the Protective Security Command (ProCom) officially operationalised its Strategic Location Response (SLR) deployment, marked by a flag-off ceremony attended by Assistant Commissioner of Police Victor Ho, the Commander of ProCom. This initiative is part of ProCom’s ongoing transformation aimed at bolstering the Singapore Police Force’s (SPF) frontline public security incident response capabilities across the island.
Objectives of the SLR Initiative

The primary goal of the SLR is to deter potential threats and improve the overall security landscape by deploying specialised patrols to key locations of interest. The ability to rapidly deploy officers wherever they are needed is crucial for responding to public security threats, enabling swift action to safeguard lives and maintain public safety.
Proactive Public Safety Measures
ProCom SLR officers will enhance existing security measures at strategic locations, including popular tourist attractions and other public areas. By conducting high-visibility patrols, they aim to deter public security incidents and foster a sense of security among residents and tourists alike.
Advanced Technology Integration
Equipped with cutting-edge operational capabilities, ProCom SLR officers utilize both drone and counter-drone technology. Trained pilots operate police drones fitted with blinkers, which assist the Ground Commander in assessing situations during police operations. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX), ProCom SLR officers are equipped with handheld drone jamming systems, enabling them to disrupt unauthorized drone operations and respond swiftly to potential threats.
Enhanced Patrol Capabilities with New Vehicles
To support the SLR officers, ProCom has partnered with HTX to acquire new Off-road Vehicles (ORV). These hybrid-electric vehicles reflect ProCom’s commitment to the Singapore Green Plan while ensuring high standards of incident response. The off-road capabilities of the ORV allow ProCom to navigate varied terrains and respond promptly to incidents in remote areas. The spacious cargo area accommodates additional equipment such as drones and counter-drone jammers, while the larger cabin provides ample space for ProCom SLR officers in tactical gear and their operational equipment. The vehicles are also equipped with advanced driver assistance systems, a 360-degree camera system, multiple airbags, and a tyre pressure monitoring system to enhance driving safety.
Community Engagement and Collaboration
As part of the SLR initiative, ProCom will continue to engage with local stakeholders and conduct joint patrols, fostering a cooperative environment that enhances overall public safety. This collaborative approach ensures that the community plays an active role in maintaining a secure environment, reinforcing the bond between law enforcement and the public.
Commitment to Public Safety
The operationalisation of the SLR reflects SPF’s ongoing commitment to creating a safe and secure environment for all by projecting a strong police presence and responding swiftly to security threats. Through these proactive measures, ProCom aims to enhance public confidence in safety and security across Singapore.
