According to CNA, New Zealand’s borders has fully reopened for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic closed its borders in March 2020 to all visitors from around the world.

In February this year 2022, New Zealand’s border started reopening to Zealanders and restrictions have progressively eased.

The restrictions ended yesterday allowing visitors from around the world to enter New Zealand.

There are no quarantine requirements.

Principal Steven Hargreaves said before the pandemic started in New Zealand, international students had brought in about $5 billion a year but dropped to about an estimated $1.3 billion in the year 2021.

Head of Immigration New Zealand’s Reconnecting New Zealand unit Simon Sanders said, it’s hard to predict how many visitors will come to this country when the borders are fully reopened.

Immigration in New Zealand had recruited 230 staff to process visas and replace people from foreign offices that closed since the pandemic started.
