“NIGERIAN PRINCE” SCAMMERS NOW ADOPTING S’POREAN NAMES AND STORYLINES INSTEAD

A Facebook user shared a scam email he received from a person named “Chai Yew Kong” who claimed that he is in possession of USD$56 Million that he will transfer immediately for “business”.

Over the years, I’m sure we’ve received many spam and scam emails from names like Babatunde or Adebayor (the aforementioned names are only cited as examples) claiming to be the crown princes of Nigeria or some other African country.

They would usually claim to have an inheritance of a vast amount of money that they are looking to transfer to you, but you’d be required to make a few payments first in order to get your hands on the “inheritance”.

But now, I guess times have changed – scammers are adopting local names to target local potential victims.

If your name is Chai Yew Kong, you must have really bad luck…
