
According to the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Home Affairs, a small number of selected entertainment outlets will be allowed to re-open in this coming December.
Those selected will be part of a short pilot scheme introduced by the government with more stringent safety measure to be in place.
Requirements:
- CCTVs to be deployed in all common areas and rooms within the premises
- Customers are required to put on a mask at all
- Club goers must be tested negative of COVID-19 before they are allowed to enter the premises
The pilot scheme will start in December for Pubs and bars outlets which last for a period of 2 months while the pilot scheme for KTVs and nightclubs will start from January lasting for 3 months.
Through this scheme, it will allow the government to determine if the measures are effective enough to further allow other entertainment outlets from re-opening. Enforcement officers were also be deployed to check on these outlets regularly making sure that they are complying to the rules.
Following this announcement, it serves as a lifeline to entertainment outlets owners who are hoping to resume their business as soon as possible.
