“NO BADGE NO TALK” AUNTIE’S FATHER: “SHE USED TO BE KIND, CHARITABLE TO ORPHANS”

The 53-year-old woman who refused to put on a mask at Marina Bay Sands after being asked to do so by a Safe Distancing Ambassador, and challenged her to show her “badge”, refusing to acknowledge her if she has “no badge”.

She was then seen in different videos, refusing to put on a mask when entering Central Mall and getting refused entry, being confronted by the police at a carpark, shopping for groceries without her mask on.

Her antics have even spawned memes and even Whatsapp stickers.

She is also being investigated by the police for breaching safe-distancing measures and for being a public nuisance.

Used to be a kind and charitable person

It has since come to light that she used to be a kind and charitable person, according to her elderly father, Mr Phoon.

Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, Mr Phoon said that his daughter used to be a Navy officer, and she later joined a private company where she was sent to China for work.

Became a different person

However, when she returned to Singapore more than 10 years ago, Mr Phoon said that he noticed a drastic change in her temperament, and that he thinks she could’ve suffered some emotional trauma and was cheated by someone during her time in China.

He lamented that she was like a different person after returning from China.

He revealed that she used to be kind and charitable, and she also sponsored some orphans in the past, as well as sending money back to him while she was in China.

The elderly father said that he is worried about his daughter, in the wake of the recent news.

But he added that she is in her fifties afterall, she should know what to do.

Didn’t return his calls

He also revealed that he tried calling her on the phone but she didn’t answer his calls, and that the two do not meet very often.

And when they do meet, she would usually visit him at his home.

The last time father and daughter met was on Chinese New Year.
