With a long weekend the stalls had made a huge profit from selling illegally. In spite of recurrent warnings from NEA the bazaar continued operation with stalls at the open area between blk 84 and 89.

For the three days of illegal operations, NEA said that appropriate actions would be taken against the operators. The bazaar approved operation dates was from 4/7 to 16/7.

Is this a situation where the operator submitted the permit application until the last minute that they only obtain the go ahead to operate three days after the start date, or was it because someone at NEA did not process the request promptly enough?
