Local influencer, Noah Yap, recently posted a reel on his Tiktok account calling out people who post product reviews on e-commerce or shopping platforms and give a five star rating but have yet to try out the product itself.
In his reel which lasted for almost a minute and a half, he asked why do people always post reviews complimenting on the fast delivery etc but always ends off with saying that they have not tried the product yet.
He then states a few examples of people doing so.
Examples given
The first example which he gave shows someone giving a review which says:
“Super fast delivery, yet to try but overall satisfied. Thanks”
The person gave five stars after posting the review.
The second example which he gave shows someone giving a review which says:
“Handy size and delivered well. Good customer service but I have yet to try the system”
The person then gave five stars after posting this review.
The third example which he gave shows someone giving a review which says:
“Item received as shown in sellers market, haven’t try yet to give stars. Anyway delivery takes a week.”
Yap points out that even though the person said haven’t tried to give stars, the person proceeds to give five stars.
Asked them to try before posting review
In the reel, Yap can be heard saying:
‘Try it lah! Try it first. Try the thing then post the review. If not I look at your review for what.
He then gives an example of how such reviews are useless by saying that if he orders a food delivery and then he posts a review only saying that:
‘The client sends the food super fast man, but I have yet to try the food.”
He urges everyone to try it out before posting the reviews because posting super fast delivery and then giving five stars does not justify if the product is good and people actually look at the reviews to see if the product is worth buying instead of the delivery time.
