NON-URGENT CASES MAY NEED TO WAIT 6 HRS @ NUH’S EMERGENCY DEPT, DUE TO HIGH VOLUME

The National University Hospital (NUH) said in a statement on Facebook that they are experiencing high volume of patients at their emergency department.

They said that the waiting time is expected to be longer, and that priority will be given to patients who have life-threatening conditions.

They also added that the waiting time for patients with non-urgent conditions can be at least 6 hours long.

NUH’s statement

We are experiencing a high volume of patients at our Emergency Department and waiting time is expected to be longer.

Priority will be given to those with life-threatening conditions, such as persistent chest pain, or serious and/or multiple injuries.

For non-urgent conditions, your waiting time can be at least 6 hours.

Please visit a general practitioner clinic if your condition is not critical. Some Public Health Preparedness Clinics (PHPCs) are open in the evening and weekends, please visit www.phpc.gov.sg to view the full list of PHPCs.
