SCDF’s statement
[Final Update: Incident @ Novena MRT Station]
At about 5:30pm, SCDF was alerted by SMRT that there was white smoke and burning smell at the concourse area of Novena MRT Station.
Upon SCDF’s arrival, the white smoke at the concourse area had dissipated. Following preliminary investigations by SCDF and SMRT, the source of the white smoke was determined to be from the motor of an Air Handling Unit (AHU) inside a room at the concourse level. SMRT has since isolated the AHU system to facilitate further investigation.
There were no reported injuries.
