An NS-man recently ended his In Camp Training during his reservist and he shared online that it was his unit’s first reservist and he was “shocked” that their living condition was “this bad”.
He said that their whole platoon of about more than 20 people were allocated to just 1 bunk with little to no air ventilation.
He also shared that one of the 2nd Lieutenants tested positive for Covid while in camp, and he alleged that “nothing was done”.
He added that after booking out on Friday, people allegedly started getting sick.
Here is what he said
Is our living condition in ICT a safety breach?
Recently just ended my reservist (Monday to Friday). It’s our unit’s first reservist and and we were so shocked that our living condition was this bad. Basically a whole platoon (about 20+ ppl) was allocated to just 1 bunk, and the bunk has little to no air ventilation, and as a result it’s so humid and suffocating to sleep in the bunk.
Anyway, we were all joking that covid does not exist in the camp we are in since there are 20 ppl sleeping in the same bunk… but lo and behold, after booking out on Friday, people started getting sick and developing covid symptoms, including me. Some tested covid positive on fri, while some on sat (that’s me). There are currently 10+ people in my platoon who tested positive for covid.
Is our living condition a safety breach or its normal for the other ICTs? As this is our first ict in the covid era, we are not sure what constitutes as a safety breach. Thank u!
Edit: apparently a 2LT guy from the other platoon tested positive while in camp and nth was done, and as a result, it started spreading.
Editor’s note: The whole platoon sharing bunk thing is normal for reservist, my ICT I shared a bunk with two platoons.
The bunk that you mentioned is much, much bigger as compared to the normal ones during your NS time.
