Water prices should raise at 50% or up to 100%: NTU economics professor

Professor Ng Yew-Kwang opinion on the water price that would increase by 30 per cent over the next 2 year feels that the increase should be larger to clearly show the cost of water production.

In his view, from a complete economy point of view it will too little and it can increase it further more.The NTU economics professor fell that at least 50% if not 100% hike should be done.

Prof Ng nearly for 20 years since 2000 water prices have not been increased. He feels that the public has to pay to replicate it as it is pricey to produce water.
