25-year-old Luke Levy, a graduatign student from NUS was previously reported at holding up a piece of paper with an anti-death penalty message on it during his graduation ceremony.
The police are looking into the incident following the lodging of a police report against him, and NUS also issued a statement responding to the incident.
Levy added that the video of the ceremony, which was posted on YouTube, also removed the part of him walking up on stage to receive his certificate and holding up his sign.
NUS’ statement
“The NUS Commencement is an important ceremony celebrating the achievements of our 13,975 graduates and the completion of their NUS journey.
All graduates and guests are expected to conduct themselves appropriately during the occasion. It is not a forum for advocacy.”
