ONG YE KUNG: GOVT CONSIDERING MAKING UNVACCINATED PAY FOR OWN TREATMENT

Singapore’s Health Minister Ong Ye Kung said on 1 November that the government is considering making unvaccinated Covid patients pay for a part of their own medical treatment.

This is after they have received suggestions from the public as well as MPs, revealed Ong.

Ong said that this will serve as a strong signal to the unvaccinated people to get vaccinated.

He added that the government is also continuing to strive to expand the portfolio of the vaccines so that there is a suitable one for everybody.

He further added that the number of unvaccinated elderly people have dropped from 200,000 to less than 70,000 at the moment.
