Minister for National Development Chee Hong Tat announced that 6,952 flats across seven BTO projects were offered in the latest sales exercise, which closed on June 24.

The upcoming October 2026 BTO exercise is expected to offer approximately 7,960 flats across several towns, providing more opportunities for aspiring homeowners.

Demand Remains Strong Across Popular Estates

As of 5pm on June 24, the Housing & Development Board (HDB) had received 22,634 applications for the latest BTO launch.

According to Chee, the median application rate for first-timer families applying for three-room and larger flats remained at 1.3 applicants per available flat, similar to previous launches.

Demand varied significantly between projects.

The most competitive project was Lakeview Cascadia in Bishan, where four-room flats attracted an application rate of 3.7 first-timer families for every available unit.

Woodlands’ Woodgrove Acres also proved highly popular, recording first-timer application rates of:

  • 2.3 for three-room flats
  • 3.9 for four-room flats
  • 2.4 for five-room flats

Meanwhile, Sembawang Brook and Sembawang Portico recorded the lowest application rates, ranging between 0.4 and 0.7 across different flat types, giving applicants a significantly higher chance of securing a unit.

New Priority Scheme for Larger Families

The June exercise was also the first to implement the enhanced Third Child Priority Scheme.

Under the revised policy, families with three or more children receive a larger allocation quota when applying for new BTO flats.

The initiative forms part of the Government’s broader efforts to make public housing more accessible for larger families and encourage parenthood.

Nearly 8,000 Flats Planned for October Launch

Looking ahead, Chee said the Government remains committed to maintaining a healthy supply of public housing to meet the needs of different groups of buyers.

Between 2026 and 2028, HDB plans to launch around 20,000 two-room Flexi flats to cater to growing demand from seniors and singles.

The next BTO sales exercise, scheduled for October 2026, will feature about 7,960 flats across Bedok, Geylang, Sembawang, Tengah, Toa Payoh and Yishun.

The launch will also include Singapore’s sixth Community Care Apartment project, which will be located in the Caldecott area of Toa Payoh.

The continued rollout of new flats is intended to provide Singaporeans with a wider range of housing options while keeping pace with long-term demand for public housing.
