This comes after the surge in daily cases recently and also because there is ‘extensive works’ to be done to implement the different rules in different settings.

Current measures will still remain in place for the time being.

Previously announced streamline measures

The Multi-Ministry Task Force (MMTF) had earlier announced that measures would be streamlined so that it will be easier for all to understand and abide.

These new measures will include various things such as:

  • Allowing groups of five to visit homes at any one time
  • Social gatherings of up to five people at workplaces
  • Adjustments to vaccination-differentiated SMMs (VDS) for unvaccinated children aged 12 years and below
  • Team sports can be resumed

The MMTF also said then that the measures will come out in two phases, on 25 Feb 2022 and 4 March 2022.

However, it will now be postponed till further notice as cases have been rising in the previous few days.
