A video has been circulating on Whatsapp and TikTok of passengers appearing to be very concerned and looking in the forward direction of the train.
The video was filmed on the East West Line (Green) towards
Instagram user pr.r.l.l.x commented that it was due to a smoke smell.

Another Instagram user pointed out: “There’s no need to panic, the C151 train set in this video is very old. Normally, trains rely on regenerative braking but the C151 had to use its actual brakes that’s why got smelled of burning steel. It’s normal.”
A man who appears to be a staff was seen trying to get passengers to leave the train and passengers were seen confused on the platform while waiting for the next train at Kembangan Station.
