An exceptionally brilliant lawyer – one of the best Singapore has ever seen. He was also a consummate gentleman, both at the Bar, and outside. Tremendous presence, wit, grace and goodness.
I consider it one of the greatest privileges in my life, to have been his pupil. I learnt from him – first as a pupil, and subsequently as a junior associate. No one could have asked for a better mentor.
He made a difference to the legal profession in many ways.
And from a personal perspective, I can say that there was more than one life changing turn, for me, because of him, his advice.
He will be greatly missed by everyone who dealt with him.
How does one really put into words the sadness that one feels? I am unable to adequately express them.
