We are very grateful for the strong show of support for us. Without this unfortunate incident, we would not have known that there are so many quiet supporters of our humble little cafe for whom we have put in so much effort to produce good food and drinks .
By winning Best Cafe/Bistro in 2016, double national champion for Tea Master Cup 2017 earning the rights to represent Singapore in the world tea championship, silver medalist for Australian International Coffee Competition 2017 (one of two Asian roasters to win in the espresso blend category, the other in Hong Kong), baking all breads in house and making most of the food from scratch in house, always graded A in hygiene by NEA and even extending a huge 25% discount for Pet Lover’s Centre members.
All these may come to naught. After posting this, we have only one customer on the pet-friendly side of the cafe tonight. If this continues, we will seriously be thinking about changing our business model.
All thanks to the one guy who needs to satisfy his ego to activate our nanny state.
It started as a fight between two dogs, both unleashed. Instead of settling amongst themselves, one party decided to complain to the authorities that his dog was bitten by another dog in our cafe.
In our 6 years of operation, there were only 3 such cases, including this one. Previous cases were closed simply with medical reimbursements.
Sorry guys, please leash all your dogs in future. Else we will have to ask you to leave.
The authorities will be inspecting other pet friendly cafes. So in effect, pets at all pet friendly cafes in Singapore must all be leashed now.
