According to Mr Lawerance Wong, patients who show no symptoms of COVID-19 are less likely to be the virus-spreaders. However, the virus can still be spread through close contact.

With infected patients not showing any symptoms, this means that there might be more community cases yet to be detected. This is the reason that the progression of the re-opening will be slow and some of the circuit breaker measures will continue to be in place.

The crowd on public transport has raised concerns among many Singaporean during phase 1. However safe distancing is not required while on public transport. Public transport is seen as transient contact but not close contact. This means the risk of getting the virus is lower.

In this difficult time, many of us has been suffering in term of mentally and physically. For the safety for all Singaporeans, the re-opening phase must be done slowly and carefully to prevent any surge in COVID-19 cases among the community.
