A netizen shared how he and his partner went to the SkyHelix attraction at Sentosa on 27 January and wanted to get on the ride, but his partner (who is plus-sized) was apparently fat-shamed by a SkyHelix staff member.
Here is the story:
Hi, me and my partner went to Sky Helix earlier today at 8pm only to get disappointed and felt very upset about it.
My partner is a plus size and she wasn’t able to take the ride.
She teared up and felt embarrassed when the staff told her that she had to test it out first to see if she can fit into the chair.
She felt so embarrassed that she looked at me and teared up. And that was booked and planned as a date for me to bring her because she had been stressed about work and school.
And for her to go through that moment moved me.
I then told her let’s leave and I don’t wish to make her feel uncomfortable and we left without seating on it.
