Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong received Johor’s highest honour earlier today, the Dato Sri Paduka Mahkota Johor (First Class, Grand Commander of the Order of the Crown of Johor), from the Sultan of Johor at the Istana Besar Johor.
He shared the good news onto his Facebook, as he expressed his gratitude and honour at receiving the award.
Here is what he said
Deeply honoured to receive Johor’s highest honour — the Dato’ Sri Paduka Mahkota Johor (First Class, Grand Commander of the Order of the Crown of Johor) — from Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar at the Istana Besar Johor today.
Sultan Ibrahim and his wife Raja Zarith Sofiah also hosted us for brunch. It was a pleasure to meet them in JB again after our land borders were partially shut for almost two years.
Johor is a key gateway between Singapore and Malaysia, and both share a special relationship. I’m glad we have moved decisively into living with COVID-19 and resumed our links, so people can cross the Causeway to reconnect with families and friends, like I did today.
I look forward to hosting Sultan Ibrahim during his official visit to Singapore later this year. – LHL
