The Singapore Police Force has issued an appeal for information on the whereabouts of 16-year-old Lim Xinyi Jermaine, who has been missing since early July.
According to police, the teenager was last seen near Block 11 Rivervale Link in Sengkang at about 6:55am on 2 July 2025. The location is close to North Vista Secondary School. There have been no confirmed sightings since, and authorities are now reaching out to the public for assistance.
Members of the public with any information are urged to contact the police hotline at 1800-255-0000 or submit details via the i-Witness portal on the official website at www.police.gov.sg/i-witness. Police assured that all submissions will be kept strictly confidential.
Community Concern Over Teen’s Safety
Cases involving missing youths often draw significant concern, especially when there is little information about their last known movements. Families and schools typically play a key role in providing background that could assist in the search, while police rely heavily on eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage from the surrounding area.
In Singapore, missing persons reports are treated with urgency, particularly when the individual is a minor. Police have reminded the public not to speculate online, as misinformation can hinder investigations. Instead, they encourage residents in Sengkang and neighbouring estates to come forward if they noticed anything unusual on the morning of the incident.
Public Cooperation Vital in Missing Persons Cases
Authorities stress that community vigilance remains essential in such cases. Singapore’s dense urban environment, supported by widespread CCTV coverage and public transport monitoring, often allows investigators to piece together a missing person’s movements. However, timely information from witnesses frequently makes the decisive difference.
The police continue to investigate the case and are appealing to anyone who may know the teenager’s whereabouts to step forward.
For now, the priority is to establish her safety and provide closure for her family.
