The first incident occurred on April 28, 2025, at approximately 10:55 PM, when police received a report regarding damage at Block 51A Sengkang West Avenue, an area designated as a polling station. Upon arrival, officers discovered that three wheelchairs belonging to the Elections Department had been vandalized. Investigators from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division identified five suspects believed to be responsible for the damage. Initial inquiries revealed that the group allegedly engaged in racing with the wheelchairs, with one individual reportedly throwing a wheelchair into the air.

The second incident took place on May 1, 2025, around 1:00 AM, at Block 176B Boon Lay Drive, where a sheltered basketball court had also been set aside for polling purposes. In this case, one wheelchair belonging to the Elections Department was found damaged. Officers from the Jurong Police Division have identified eight individuals who may be connected to this act of vandalism.

Ongoing investigations are being conducted to gather more information regarding these incidents. Under Section 3 of the Vandalism Act, those found guilty of vandalism face penalties that include fines of up to $2,000, imprisonment for a maximum of three years, and the possibility of receiving between three to eight strokes of caning.

The police have made it clear that they will not tolerate any actions that undermine the law, disrupt public order, or result in damage to public property, particularly during the sensitive election period. Authorities are committed to taking decisive action against those who engage in such unlawful behavior.
