POLICE INVESTIGATING MP LOUIS NG FOR HOLDING PLACARD WITHOUT PERMIT

Louis Ng, the MP for Nee Soon GRC, is being investigated by the Singapore Police for the possible offence of public assemby without a permit.

Ng posted pictures of himself posing with several hawkers during his visit to Yishun Park Hawker Centre, during 19 June and 20 June 2020, holding a sign saying “Support Them :)”

Ng has since been interviewed by the police and investigations are currently ongoing.

Ng then released a statemente on Facebook, addressing the incident.

He clarified that the sign that he was holding was meant to urge residents to support hawkers.
