Hougang NPC recently shared on their Facebook page warning the public of the latest series of scams by scammers posing as banks.

These latest series of scams involve scammers using the tactic of actively targeting bank customers by offering them the Singapore Bicentennial Commemorative Note of $20 for free.

Bank customers would usually receive a phishing SMS with a link that will lead them into a website which looks exactly the same like any normal Internet Banking website.

The phishing website will then request for their personal particulars and that is where the scammers will exploit these information and use them for their own gains.

Hougang NPC urges all to be vigilant and has shared a few tips on how to avoid being the victims of a scam.
