A poly usually serves as a stepping ground to prepare students to enter the workforce, yet most poly students surveyed tend to rather choose to further their studies instead. But seeing as to how local unis are hardly accepting of poly graduates, I’m kinda curious about this. Do most poly graduates just go overseas to study or something?
And for those that choose to work or fail to get admitted, do they eventually try to enter a local uni again? How does that change their chances?
Secondly, for those that choose to get a degree overseas, is that really a viable option? I heard most companies in SG don’t care about overseas degrees (apart from those prestigious universities of cos).
I agree with this. My friend who is a 3.8 pointer went into the interview room and was asked one question “Where do you see yourself in 5 years” he gave a somewhat straightforward answer and was accepted on the spot.
Then my platoon mate in BMT applied for the same degree program with 3.4 GPA and he got the hell treatment with a f*ck ton of questions like
“Do you see yourself as a spoon or a fork?”
