A fire broke out at a Sentosa Cove home on 12 May involving a white sports car that was revealed to be a Porsche.
The fire left the entire porch area of the home engulfed in a sea of red as passers-by gathered around outside and watched on in horror.
A video of the fire engulfing the white Porsche and the immediate area of the landed property emerged online and was circulating on social media.
In the video, thick plumes of black and grey smoke could be seen billowing from the house as the bright orange flames wreaked havoc.
The netizen who was filming the video later got closer to the fire and captured the white Porsche being consumed by the raging inferno.
The car appeared to be “melting” as little embers dripped off the frame of the car, before an “explosion” of sorts erupted with sparks flying upwards from the vehicle.
Firefighters and rescuers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) as well as officers from the Singapore Police Force were also on-site to control the situation.
The area was also cordoned off to maintain a safe distance between the onlookers and the raging fire.
Firefighting operations appeared to have taken quite a while as the emergency vehicles were still seen after the night had fallen.
The SCDF confirmed that they received an alert about a fire on 12 May at about 6.50 pm in the evening at 12 Cove Way.
The fire was extinguished by firefighters using two water jets.
Two persons had evacuated from the premises before the arrival of the SCDF and no injuries were reported from the incident.
The SCDF said that the fire had stemmed from the contents of a car porch outside the unit on the first floor, and the cause of fire is currently under investigation.
