PRC Fans Rush Towards Idol Before Plane Stops, Causing Chaos on Flight to Chongqing

A flight travelling from Changsha to Chongqing reportedly descended into chaos after a group of enthusiastic fans allegedly left their seats before the aircraft had completely stopped, rushing towards the business-class section in an attempt to see and film a male idol.

The incident has sparked widespread criticism online, with many questioning the behaviour of fans who appeared unwilling to follow basic aviation safety instructions.

According to footage shared online, the aircraft was approaching the boarding bridge when several passengers suddenly got out of their seats. The plane had reportedly not yet come to a complete stop when the group began moving towards the front of the cabin.

The passengers were reportedly attempting to catch a glimpse of Youth League member He Junlin, who was travelling on the same flight.

Cabin Crew Repeatedly Told Fans To Return To Their Seats

The situation reportedly became increasingly disorderly as more passengers gathered near the front of the aircraft.

Flight attendants and other crew members were seen attempting to control the situation and instruct passengers to return to their seats. However, according to the social media post, some of the fans allegedly ignored repeated instructions.

The disturbance reportedly continued for more than 10 minutes, creating an uncomfortable situation for other passengers who were still waiting for the aircraft to complete its arrival procedures.

While the footage circulating online does not independently establish whether any aviation offence was committed, leaving a seat while an aircraft is still taxiing or has not completed its arrival procedures can raise legitimate safety concerns.

Passengers are generally expected to remain seated and follow cabin crew instructions until it is safe to disembark.

Extreme Fan Behaviour Raises Safety Concerns

The incident has also reignited discussion about so-called “sasaeng” behaviour, a term commonly used in the entertainment industry for fans who pursue celebrities excessively and intrude into their private lives.

Many social media users criticised the reported behaviour, arguing that enthusiasm for an idol should never take priority over passenger safety or the instructions of airline staff.

Others pointed out that celebrities and ordinary passengers alike have a right to travel without being surrounded or followed by groups of people attempting to record them.

The incident is particularly concerning because aircraft cabins can become crowded quickly when passengers move simultaneously towards a narrow area. Sudden movement while an aircraft is still completing its arrival process could also potentially create risks for passengers and crew.

Online Reaction Focuses On Aviation Safety

The video has attracted strong reactions, with commenters calling for stricter enforcement against passengers who refuse to follow cabin crew instructions.

Some users also referenced previous incidents involving excessive fan behaviour at airports and airlines taking measures against groups of passengers considered disruptive.

For airlines, maintaining cabin discipline is not simply a matter of passenger comfort. Following safety instructions is an important part of commercial aviation procedures, particularly during take-off, landing and taxiing.

The latest incident has therefore become another example of how celebrity culture can spill over into public spaces, with online attention increasingly focused on whether fans should face consequences when their pursuit of an idol disrupts other passengers or potentially compromises aviation safety.

At present, the information circulating online is based on the footage and accompanying social media reports. There is no confirmed information in the material provided indicating that the passengers involved were arrested or formally penalised.
