Chinese police had detained a man in eastern China on Monday 11 July who is accused of breaking into his ex-wife property and rape her.
The man by the surname Zhan was accused of sexually assaulting his ex-wife while her daughter were asleep.
Zhan and the woman were divorced last month and were unhappy after his request to remarry was rejected, according to a police statement.
Two video clips form the surveillance cameras out the woman property was shared widely in China.
One surveillance camera captured the man hiding on the staircase outside the woman property and stomping on her after she unlocked the front door.
Since last month where serval female diners were severely attacked by a group of men in a restaurant.
Netizens were concerned about her safety.
If convicted of rape, he could be jailed for 3 to 10 years.
