A woman shared an unpleasant after shopping at a birthday props shop located along beach road. She claimed that a china man had raise his voice at her just because he cant speak English.
Here is the story:
This morning, I went to buy some birthday props and birthday stuffs at Beach Rd in Blk 462. I was in the shop asking a Chinese male in English “where can I find this candies bag carrier”.He was wearing normal clothing coming out from his staff door. But to my astonishment, he mentioned, “He said that in English he does not know how to speak in English and literally saying that in English”.
I told him you just said that in English and you don’t know how to speak. He just raised his tone up. I just asked another person in English who was at the cashier and he told me in English that this is what we have and he showed me at the shelves. This cashier guy asked the other fellow Chinese guy what had happened. And he was telling the cashier guy the story. I saw this Chinese male was standing at the cashier area with the cashier guy sitting and talking on the phone so I decided not to buy.
As it was not the one and there was no service of assistance, I left the shop and to Beach rd near traffic light area and explained what I wanted to buy.
The 2 shops selling birthday gifts or toys for kids assisted me and I got what I wanted. I explained to them and they told me that shop which I went, received alot of complaints on the attitude they not serving the customers well from patrons.
People would patronise here near the traffic light shops. My point is if you don’t want people to buy in your shop. Close your shop permanently. We do not need to have this kind of attitude in Spore. Go elsewhere and work in your own country. Don’t show attitudes towards patrons who need to buy. This is Singapore and learns to talk in English. Not only 2 shops at Beach rd which I mentioned showed me the right attitude and customer svc.
I bought more from them. Please do not patronise the shop shown on the picture added facing opp the textile centre or Blk 462 below. Not worth your time and service showed.Thanks.
